Oc'ed @ 4.4 9k physics. , also hyperthreading/cores seems to add quite a lot to fire strike in general, just have a look at scores from AMD cpu's.

i5-3570k @ 4.6 gets about 8,5-8,7k in physics of fire-strike

Anyway we'll see what happens when better bios'es come out for mobos.

Yeah, but my point still stands, I tested without hyperthreading and it still outscored those Haswell numbers while being clocked 100MHz slower with 800MHz slower ram. 4 core vs 4 core, This is a five year old processor outscoring it here with a disadvantage.

I really hope you are right with the bios being extremely immature on his board. I'm certain Ivy scores much better than that.

Haswell might come out on June 2nd soon we will see if the prices are right biggrin.gif. I still think that the prices are going to be like 10-25$ more.

Also a little bird told me they will be doing motherboard bundles starting day one wheee.gif

Did this birdie mention if there will be an i7 bundle too?

Man if MC will be selling things on Sunday, I'll definitely be changin' plan and driving there biggrin.gif

Maybe I should put in my order for a tube of CL Liquid Ultra since we probably need to delid anyway.

There probably would be a bundle for the i7.

Heavy computing load doesn't benefit from hyperthreading. For example linx is much better without hyperthreading.

Now I really can't decide whether to go i5 or i7. I only game, but it seems new gen stuff will use more than 4 threads so would i7 be worth it?
