i had a 7950 that maxes out games in 1080.

At 1080p the 660TI should max most games no problem and 2gb of vram enough. When I had a GTX 670 I had no issues @ 1200p and never saw more than 1.9gb of allocation/use on any of my games.

I see guys talking about GTX Titans running BF3 and using 3.8GB of VRAM while 2GB GTX 670's do fine @ 1.7-1.7GB VRAM used.

just saying.

i understand now that 4gb seems to be pointless for 1080p or like some graphs show even higher!

why do the cards come on 4gb versions? i mean whats the point?

that question you have to ask nvidia. how much is the difference between the two?

if you can buy 4 tires for almost the price of 2 . . . why not go for 4?

Because despite the gross ignorance being displayed it's useful and very much needed when using large amounts of high resolution texture mods, like in Skyrim. If that game runs out of vram performance tanks and stutters like crazy dropping usage to 0% often enough to make it unplayable. It's also useful when downsampling at large resolution like 2160p.

At 1080p 2GB is enough to run just about every non modded game currently out. That might change in six months time.

Because you cant do much with only two tires while 4gb of vram wont change anything?

I didnt have any issues running the fabled skyrims with tons of mods with dual 6850s on release. Memory allocation isnt representative of actual VRAM usage.

That because you didn't pack in tons and tons of modded textures. Tons maybe. I'm not the only one who had issues with this.

I've seen what many claim to be "tons" and it's quite laughable.

I've had around 10 graphical mods with a high res texture mod and a post processing injector. Never had a single slow down with «only» 1gb of vram. 2gb is plenty.

Regardless, in your honest opinion, it is worth it to shell out 100$ for a 4gb because a single game might stutter if you install over 9000 mods?
