Q6600 Help ! Blast from the past !

Hi there. Its been a long time Since I have been on back here but anyway to the point !

I still have my gaming Rig which I built years upon years ago. Specs as follows

EVGA 680i SLI
Intel q6600 2.4 GO Quad
DDR2 800 mhz ocz ram
GTX 660ti 448 Core
2 X Raid 0 Raptors

I am having rather a lot of trouble overclocking this sucker !

I have always seemed have a problem where by my computer will run fine for a few hours or so and then for no apparent reason it completely freezes and I have to restart. All the games seem to run fine and I do not get any visual glitches.

I have been messing around with voltages and in the end I just set them all back to AUTO apart from the memory which I have left at 2.2 which was stated on the OCZ website. I know that the 680i board was not a very stable one but I have seen people get these up to 3.6 on air and I am struggling to even get 2.8 at times.

I have checked my temps and are as follows

CPU:

LOAD 55 MAX
IDLE 28 MIN

MCP ( NORTHBRIDGE )

IDLE : 50
LOAD: UNKNOWN ( Tried Everest ) no joy

BOARD:

IDLE 22
LOAD UNKNOWN

I know the Northbridge is fairly warm but this is normal for 680i's from what I have read. I don't think it is an overheating issue because surely it would do it when under full load playing games. I can be writing a email or simply just browsing the net when the screen freezes and I can not do anything.

Just as a test I have now pushed the cpu to 3.4 all on AUTO Voltage excluding ram and it is been running now for 2 hours and all is well ... I know my system is old but I am saving and waiting for the 4th gen intel chips to come out, then I will upgrade.

Sorry If I ranted on here a little but I am so stuck I just do not know what to do next ! Thank you all for your time.

Eagle.

Does it still happen when using AUTO voltages? What voltage are you using?
