Don't listen to this myth asic does correspond to over clocking but there are many other factors of a GPU that affect its overclock. A GPU may have good asic % but suck at over clocking because of other components like : capacitors, cooling and many others. And asic for nvidia gtx 680 really does not mean much as nvidia cards can't overclock much any ways.

My proof of asic is that my 7950 with 60% asic gets 1.15ghz at 1.25v which is very good.

but under LN2 it wont do any better than a higher asic quality card

Nvidia reference cards will not use the gtx 780 or the gtx titan cooler, the images of the gtx 770 reference coolers are the coolers from nvidia OEM partners.
Gtx 770 will actually use the same coolers as the gtx 680 not the gtx 780.

That's totally irrelevant because what percentage of people run LN2 on their gpu's...

when i say maxed out i mean 1080 Ultra (all) and 4MSAA maintaining 60 minimum fps depending on the oc of the i5 SB. 3X1080 will require both the gpu and cpu to be oc'ed to maintain the same minimum.

Thread Starter
I'd like to get as much FPS as possible so I don't consider the 7950 being able to "max out" the game. Looks like I need to update my sig but I've got an Asus VG248QE 144Hz monitor and am contemplating using lightboost. A used 680 would probably cost me around $350 whereas both the 770 and 7970 are $400 new. However the 7970 comes with the 4 game pack that I could sell. Decisions decisions....

oh noes master, i will give up a couple of msaa before i settle for 30 min. my i7 at stock the min fps will go down to the low 50s. oc'ed to 4.5 and the gpu at stock it comfortably maintained 60. that is MP 64-man server.

edit: @op, i am sure you'll be happy with the 770 if ever but you got think about your other components based on your budget. i recommend the 4GB.2cents.gif

dude! 144Hz you need 2 highend if you want to max out BF4 i am sure. i think it is safe to say that the 7970 is now a mid-range but 2 of those will still support that res.
