GTX 770: Where are the 4GB models? Where are the NVIDIA "Titan" coolers?

I was really looking forward to getting a good looking GTX 770 with the Titan cooler and 4GB of VRAM, but I haven't seen any 770s with 4GB and/or the Titan cooler. What gives?

NVIDIA shows off the 770 on their page with the Titan cooler, where are 770s with a Titan cooler?

Where are the 4GB 770s?

Titan cooler is more than likely a 780 only heatsink, but just give it some time. There will definitely be some 4gb versions out.

Hmmm. If I'm on a yearly upgrade cycle, is it worth getting a 4GB GPU? I only need this one to ride me out into the GTX 800 series. Do you think games will start using 2000MB+ VRAM by 2014? If I can ride on 2GB for a while longer I'll bet that the next series of NVIDIA GPUs will be 3 or 4 gigs by default.

I should mention that I game @ 1080p or lower resolutions... Coming from Crossfired 1GB 7770's.

"Titan cooler" versions won't be available in North America. Perhaps now would be a good time to pick up a used 680 on the cheap.

If you intend to only game on 1080p or lower going into the future, you CAN get away with 2 GB and therefore be find just getting a GTX 770 now (or what erocker said and get a used 680). However, if you want to go 1080p as the sole baseline in your gaming needs (and going up to 1440p/1600p in the future). I would say get a 4 GB 770 (they are coming) or an used 4 GB 680.

As for the Titan coolers, I am surprised NA distros aren't going to use them. However, for quiet cooling purposes, I still prefer one get an ACX, Windforce or TF cooler over the Titan cooler as they are quieter significantly.

I'll be rocking 1080p for a while. Just got a 1080p monitor for my desk. Pretty nice, coming from 1440x900.

Went ahead and ordered the EVGA GTX 770 SuperClock 2GB w/ ACX Cooler. Should be here tomorrow or Saturday Can't wait! biggrin.gif
