What GTX 770 should I take?

Hey, I currently have a GTX 480, so I want to upgrade my GPU at the same time of my CPU. I just bought a i7 3770k with a Maximus V Formula as a motherboard. I am currently looking between :

EVGA SuperClocked : http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130921

or

MSI Lightning : http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127742

or

should I just wait for the EVGA FTW version?

Also, is it worth to wait for the 4 Gb cards or it's not worth it?

Thanks

Definitely go with the lightning. It has dual 8 pin power connectors, a fully custom pcb with very high quality vrm components and other circuitry, excellent power delivery, and an unbeatable aftermarket heatsink, all of which leads to the best overclocking 770 available at this time. It will overclock significantly better than the evga model while remaining quieter, cooler, and more stable.

As for 2gb vs 4gb. It all depends on what resolution you play at. For 1920x1080, 2gb is more than adequate for the majority of games available even with all settings on high. For resolution any higher or if you want more future resistance when new games come out that are more demanding, I would suggest waiting for the 4gb models to surface.

The EVGA ftw edition is going to be on par with the overclockability of the lightning edition card from msi but it will not have as great a cooler so it will run louder and your temps will be higher but evga has the best warranty so if that is important to you, I would think about waiting for one of those. thumb.gif

Perfect, now I just have to decide myself if I go now for the MSI Lightning or wait for 4Gb models....

Does gaming in 3D take more Video Ram?

I noticed the "gaming" MSI also has dual 8 pin, like the lightning. I wonder how it will do in terms of OC'ing? Also, is voltage unlocked on the Gaming or Lightning?

I know it's unlocked on the lightning, not sure on the gaming one though.
