But I have been gaming on 314.22 for a while now.
download the latest driver and do not install from 'open browser'
let the download complete then close all other non important apps then perform clean install from clicking on the completed download.

That's the way I always do it.
and sorry I'm not going to try it again after seeing what it was doing.

Your rig must be doing it wrong, been running my 460's in SLI on 320.12 beta for the last two weeks with no hiccups. Then again I don't use Experience or install any extra components other than driver and PhysX modules

Could be the problem.
I was using 320.18 btw, just checked.

When you replied you mentioned 320.xx, does this mean that you have tried some of the betas between 314 and 320? Afaik 320.12 and 320.18 have little difference between them apart from M$ certs. I will test when I get back home. I would recommend to a custom-clean install without any other modules (ie. do not select audio or nvidia update, only Driver and PhysX). Disable MSI AB or Precision if you have it running. If you have OC'ed then revert to stock just in case. It's a bit annoying especially when the driver ends up failing but its always seems to be an end-user incompatibility, I know this from testing my 460's on a non-SLI motherboard

At first I posted 320.** because I could remember the exact value.

I went over geforce.com to look at the change log and see if there are any optimizations regarding the 460
and stumbled upon a lot of comments describing the same problems I had! Coment Section

I gave up on this release.
