Newegg Sapphire 6970 $200

Thread Starter
I know its an old card but good for someone looking to go CF as its just about same price as you would spend on a used one for a new price.

Hard to believe these are still this expensive. I've seen 7870 XT's down to ~209.
Not trying to crap the thread. I'm surprised the 6970 has retained its value this well.

Do you think it is a good idea to crossfire? I have one 6970 and it's been fine on 1080p.

Also don't wanna thread crap but I really think you can find a decent one used. Especially with the 7xx series out. I have seen these cards being dumped left and right and I had seen one go for $120 actually. If you wanna go for a NIB card then go with one of these but I think I would go with a used card rather than buying last gen at prices that you can get a great current gen card for. Just my two cents. thumb.gif

No do not CF these cards - the microstutter is brutal.

But i can see why theyre still somewhat pricey - theyre great for crypto coin mining.

650 Ti Boost 2GB is at $169 and performs better than 6970 2GB at the lowest $200 as you stated. Not worth it.

Not really. For crypto mining, the 6970 performs on par with the 7870 at a similar price point while drawing 50% more power.
