The Witcher 2
Good game, but for some reason I can't stay interested for more than about ~45 minutes. After that I'm just bored.

Bordlerlands
Fun with friends - then my friends stopped playing. Awful in solo mode.

Dang I'm also seeing a lot of Bioshock Infinite here.. I loved the first one but hated the second one.

Why do some of you not like it?
XCOM: Enemy Unknown. I genuinely really liked it a long way in. But then, battles started getting into the bull**** zone. There was a lot more instances of vertical combat, and with it a lot of visibility wonkiness. For instance, an assault trooper couldn't actually shoot at an enemy almost directly below her; with line of sight being very obvious in my commander view. Furthermore, the cheap tricks were going the other way for enemies. This happened a lot:

-1- movement left
"Okay, Spark team; we've set up a nice field of cover to watch out for anything moving into our line of sight, so nothing's going to take us by surprise during the enemy turn. I'd like to just get a little more vision on that room we haven't seen yet. Jenkins, move over there."
(Moves)
CONTACT! Enemy on the move! (5 huge aliens in the corner are revealed in a cutscene, and then waltz past cover, straight up to my units during my turn)
...ALIEN ACTIVITY...

Originally, I understand that mechanic was meant to make you aware of enemies before they were given their initial position behind cover (the alternative being to simply spawn them there) But when they actually USE that move to get MUCH closer to my units, that's when I started deciding the AI was cheating, and that it was then okay to save-crawl.

Too me is was like that movie that the trailer reviles everything. Played about 2 hours and did not find anything exiting to do. Very linear for my taste.

I did not finish Bioshock Infinite either... I got bored very quickly... Play a few hours and was like mmmmmm..... I did not finish Crysis 2 or 3 either and the first Crysis I was glued to the screen! Funny thing is that I finished Farcry 3 Blooddragon lol!

On the flipside Call of Juarez Gunslinger was AMAZING!!!! the game play was a little on the easy side (on hard) but the story was just so amazing and the way the skills work is pretty cool (could have been better). The story though is just awesome!

Sounds like you got stuck there and died a lot, like most people do. lachen.gif

More like Miller kept dying. I was doing fine, actually moving to avoid the blobs while I shot them. Miller on the other hand seemed to think it would be better to slowly walk and maybe shoot one or two of them. tongue.gif

Yeah that's actually more common. You're supposed to destroy the pods in which those things spawn from.

That took me about a dozen attempts, but that scene/level is pretty close to the end of the game, maybe like 85% through the game.

It's quite interesting how much one person can LOVE LOVE LOVE a game whereas another person absolutely cannot stand it.

I on the other hand absolutely loved everything about it, and have played it through with all the expansions twice. Only once for Fallout New Vegas but that was a proper mission to see and do (almost) everything. Think I racked up over 100 hours on each of the two games.

Had a go on the first Fear game about a year ago (bit late picking this series up) but got a few hours in to, had to re-install Windows, didn't back it up and then couldn't be bothered downloading the entire 15Gb of game files again. That said, doubt I'd play it again anyway.

Games I gave up on and went back to: -

Final Fantasy XII - Got about 90% of the way through and had to push myself to finish. Storyline didn't really grab me as much as FF7/8/9/10, to be honest I can't even really remember it, it was more like FF11 offline to me.

Resident Evil 5 - Installed, played for 30 minutes and thought what the hell is this crap?! (the last Ressie played having been RE3) The new control system and camera angles did my head in so I put it down and never picked up... until the weekend just gone. Again, found the controls awful to begin with but persevered... Now I've clocked up 10 hours already and I love it. The first game that ever required some persistance to even start to enjoy it but definitely worth the inital learning curve. Might even go back and try RE4 now, RE6 maybe?

Final Fantasy XI Online - Played for 6 months, quit 3 months, played again for 2 years, quit 2 months, played again for another 1.5 years. Honestly, if there ever was a digital equivilant to crack cocaine then this would be it. That said, bar none, the best and most immersive gaming experience I have ever had in my lifetime and something that I still wish I could log back in and play on an almost weekly basis having quit over 2 years ago! Such memorable times spent in Vana 'diel. I only mentioned this as I didn't finish the ToAU and WotG expansions but to be honest the game in essence isn't really finish-able!

Generally I find that if I pick up a game and it's good, I have to finish it more or less 100%, which could be contributed to a mild case of OCD, but yes, going for S rank in all difficulties, all chapters in RE5 now, you get the idea. smile.gif
