It might just be me, but I'd rather have see actual evolution instead of just a couple of new skins (I presume?) and a new graphics engine.Unless it's Unreal Tournament - the first one.
INB4 he posts gameplay videos of call of duty, or battlefield, or any other game series for that matter.
The only game that I have ever played which changed everything in a sequal was GW2, and it was an absolute train wreck. Nearly every single thing I liked from GW1 was gone, replaced with low budget still image cutscenes, absolutely no choice in skills other than using one skill that does the same thing as a different one, and calling it choice... The only cool thing about the game is the jumping puzzles in many of the zones, and exploration. I simply have no motivation to level a character beyond that. The combat is dull, you are limited to a handful of skills, of which you have no significant choice over...
Yeah, variety isn't always a good thing in a series. If I wanted different, I would just buy another game. Only thing they have going is that it is free to play, after the initial purchase. Every so often I log back in and take a stab at wandering around.
