Games you just couldn't be bothered to finish that other people raved about... - Page 66

Metro is the type of game you need to take your time with, otherwise you will miss some of the best parts. The majority of the fun is sneaking around and coming up with creative ways to complete a map. Running and gunning is an option, but not the way it was meant to be played.

I was really trying the sneaking, but that damn broken glass on the stairwell and an inconvenient autosave made me put it down. Might pick it back up later, but right now Saints Row IV is eating my time.

Got to some stairs that have broken glass on them and the game autosaved so I have what seems like 100 people all trying to kill me now. Put it down and haven't looked back since.

Oooooooh yeah I forgot about Metro 2033. I actually liked it but then got to a level where enemies infinitely spawn from the train tunnels and attack a point the NPCs are defending. I almost never can take a game seriously that has infinite respawn points for enemies... ruined the immersion for me, and I put the game down and never went back to it.

Yeah, the point I'm at is similar. At the top of the steps there are train tracks and it seems the enemies are all over the place and just keep coming no matter how many I can kill. I tried running for it but there were so many I died within seconds.

Tens of such games.
Most enjoyed probably wizardry7, I almost finished it but I lost some item needed for final fight so I got stuck. I replayed it many times since then but always got bored long before getting that far.
From newer games for example skyrim. I trained a powerful character and when I was feeling very strong I started to do main quest, but I couldnt finish one of the quests because quest npc disappeared from the world. Never played it since then. Oh, and when Im talking about bethesdas game - I never finished daggerfal neither - I got completely bugged in crux something dungeon at the very end of the game.

I'm glad I read your post about Metro: 2033 because I was thinking about getting that game and glad I didn't. Any game that infinitely respawns enemies even if it's just in one level...I'll pass.

As I said before I really enjoyed Fallout 3 and hoping Bethesda would make a future release of Fallout 4 or something better than Fallout New Vegas. Something like Fallout Area 51 with different scenarios would be cool such as you joining aliens (or a character like Fawkes but alien) to plot against and finally eliminate the Enclave. Or maybe join up with the Brotherhood of Steel again to rescue key captives from an alien base (or bases) while at the same time sabotaging a new mothership aliens are building...helping the Brotherhood of Steel retrieve technology and finding an array of cool new weapons. I'm just saying the possibilities are endless. A real Fallout multiplayer with different maps with crazy and unique weapons would be cool too such as Brotherhood Vs. Enclave or Rangers Vs. Raiders whatever etc...

C'mon Bethesda I know you can do better!! biggrin.gif

Max Payne 3... just a terrible looking game. Characters are like puppets, the cut-scenes look like an episode of Captain Scarlett (so the devs dumped a load of lens flare and post on top to try to hide it). Gameplay is dull too. I remember the first Max Payne being more fun. You got caught on less scenery while diving, for a start.
