Just give a stock Android with the software necessary to use all the phone capabilities doh.gif

Sooo... you want stock Android plus the software to run the phone features?

No problem, there is this thing called Sense...

As long as the hardware for the IR and radio are still there community support will make them available. Beats sucks and there are other camera options. The benefits of a vanilla experience outweigh the costs 10fold.

Pfft, everyone wants everything both ways.

1.) "I WANT STOCK ANDROID ON A FLAGSHIP"
2.) Manufacturers collaborates with Google and releases phone with AOSP without any proprietary frameworks
3.) "I WANT MY PROPRIETARY FEATURES ON AOSP"

What the hell, people? You can't have it both ways.

its stock android what did people expect?
and beats is terrible, so people whining about this must not have ears.
ZOE, also kind of redundant, i mean its cool in theory but useless on a phone due to phone cams sucking in general, even the "good" ones.

glad HTC finally released this, but they should have done it at I/O, so again, poor decision making on thier part.

Similarly, the software part of Beats Audio will be removed but the high-quality audio hardware will remain.

Other hardware features that depend on non-AOSP software will also be disabled – that means no IR blaster and no FM radio. If Android grows native support for such features later on, they will be enabled

So no, they are not removing the hardware, which would involve re-designing the phone and changing the manufacturing process, they are just providing essentially a rooted handset.

I guess there is nothing to complain about. You want stock you get stock.

When I had my htc i enjoyed beats though and without the cam software that 4Mp camera is useless.
