Is Windows RT pretty much dead end?

Thread Starter
Want to pick up a tablet and leaning towards a windows one. I am extremely satisfied with my Lumia 920 and want to stick with the same interface. Surface pro is way over my budget right now, so was thinking of picking up a Surface with RT. But if RT is pretty much dead end, I will just wait until I can afford a pro.

Yes. Do not bother, RT sales were bad and app sales were worse. Microsoft will end the RT line soon enough as x86 processors get near ARM in terms of power usage. Both intel and amd are working towards this.

Things are not looking good for Microsoft, i feel any day Microsoft will longer support the RT, some of there OEM already stop supporting the RT(Acer, HTC,Toshiba) , Windows Phones are great but in tablet, i hate to say thing the IPad is still the best, am a Android fan but Google is having a hard time finding 3rd parties developers support there tablet. That's the main reason i wont get a Android tablet

agree that RT is dead in release. I disagree that there are no good Android tablets. The Note 8.0 and Nexus 10 are great, though there is a lot of crap out there. The problem for Android is the lack of tablet optimised apps in the play store.

Wait until you can get a full win8 tablet. It's so nice being able to install anything you would on your desktop... even the little things like playing any video file easily really make a huge difference. I don't think I'll ever go back to using a phone OS on a tablet now that I've had a windows 8 one.

I recently got a Dell Latitude 10 and it has Full Windows 8. I got mine with a laptop promotion for $299 which also included Microsoft Office 2013 Home and Student. I was having problems with internet connectivity but I updated all the drivers and now I don't have any problems. The OS is still new so I can't really find too many applications but I will give it some time. I just like that it has a USB slot and I can connect a keyboard and mouse and take notes while in class. I like android but the app market bothers the hell out of me and I refuse to spend money on an iPad as they cost way too much and don't really have what I wanted. Windows 8 is perfect for my needs.

I had a Surface RT and while i enjoyed it. It was extremely limited in what it could do. It could surf a few pages fine, but if you tried playing music and have 4 tabs open its dead. Not enough ram or CPU.

Its pretty much a giant smartphone with a lack of apps.
