770 GTX

Thread Starter
I keep reading 770 GTX reviews, and they're quite good but I'm not sure what card they are even reviewing they all show images of this but I can't find this card anywhere. The reviews I've been reading are the common ones like PCgamer etc...

Newegg didn't have any that look like this Card...

that is the reference design. typically card makers build a reference design and manufacturers are free to either use it or not. reviewers are the ones that get that design. although the gtx 780 can be bought like that.

Thanks for responding so fast guys, so would you prefer a stock fan or 3rd Party Fan? I'm not familiar with the differences... I realize each brand can be significantly different from the others... such as Gigabyte and Asus

Has there been a review pitting a stock GTX 770 or 780 using the reference design against custom designed coolers?

It's probably too early for a review like that, primarily because I believe you would want overclocking involved with a review like that biggrin.gif

I suppose overclocking would help extrapolate the results, but I don't think it's necessary to overclock them. I mean, the GTX 770 is practically an overclocked GTX 680 with the increased core, memory, and boost clocks and greater memory bandwidth, using the same GK104 architecture. I wonder how much headroom there really is for overclocking on these. It doesn't really seem necessary with GPU Boost 2.0.
