Umm, the WD Blue is a 7200rpm 64MB drive, only the laptop SCORPIO Blue is 5400rpm.

The desktop Blue has a single 1TB platter and is significantly faster than the Blacks, with Sequential speeds of around 200MBs at the outside of the platte. Newer ddrives have improved the access times as well, down to around 14.1-15.0ms.

Factor in the cheaper price, and the only benefittthe Black has is warranty (5yr vs 3).

Yeah, I actually mistaken with the Scorpio Blue, thanks for pointing this huge mistake out.
I would go with whichever is cheaper personally.

Basically, the Blue is the superior drive in every way aside from the warranty. However, I would not trade nearly 50MBs for 5yrs over 3yrs... Considering the Blue isalso qquite a bit cheaper, I would recommend it over any other WD drive except for the RE series or VelociRaptors (if looking for the ultimate in RAID0 mechanical storage where reliability trumps all).

I just checked the reviews about WD Blacks at Newegg and it looks bad, is it really not reliable HHD? I just need good advice to pull the triger biggrin.gif

Thanks guys
It is a really good HDD, you'll find the same comments and bad stories about any, really, it's a HDD after all you know, I've had a Hitachi for years and it never let me down, I've got 3 WD, same thing, I've got a 3TB from Seagate as well, never have I ever had a problem. As long as you take care of them well and do not get a faulty nor ****ty unit it should be okay wink.gif
