I'm torn between getting this if it looks good upon release or waiting for steamroller still....It's been almost 2 years now. frown.gif

This release has just made the Haswell release irrelevant, way to go intel. Your 5% ipc gain and refusal to fix the Tim issue continues to push us away. Haswell isn't worth my money

It's AMD's game to lose with Steamroller/Kaveri...

But given their recent timetable, Steamroller will come in 2014. Maybe that's why AMD decided to use a stop-gap measure for the performance/OCing addicts.

I can't wait for that one idiot who attempts to boot the FX-9000 without a heatsink... Why else would there be a market for extremely overpriced OEM rigs?

I'm not about to go full custom loop on my current build. Maybe my next rig could justify it.

I've always had questions for people who pair very high-end chips with air cooling. For the same amount of money, I could invest in a water cooling loop that will last for multiple upgrades, and OC a mid-range CPU.

Then again, I can understand why if someone's rig released magic smoke after a pipe burst.

a big reason why you oc is to get more performance. i'd rather oc a little and get a lot more performance than oc a lot and get a little more performance.
Posts like this remind me of government, Very Shortsighted and a complete waste of time. Man seriously open your mind when you read. It is the joy of over clocking and all the different ways to do it that can only be done with AMD. Arrogance never equals intelligence.
