i'm just being realistic here, the only reason why i will choose to do things the hard way is if it gives me benefits, driving a manual car for example.
why would i prefer to overclock the hard way and then will just end up with less performance? i would rather do it the easy way if i can have more performance.

Again you miss the point. Never said they were OCing to outperform everything on the planet. And many AMD OCers have done very well achieving performance. Lets not forget Delidding Intels was never easy and only brings up the point as to why. Because the original Intel production was very poor. Never really see that mentioned when Intel guys wanna bash AMD. Point is AMD clockers can choose any way they wish to OC with no bounds from the maufactuer:AMD. The same cant be said for Intel.

But for 4 gpus you should look for sb-e

thats a 3 way board.

Personally, I would wait to get one in my hands before I posted anything about how I assume it is going to be...Power hungry? Who cares! I know this is OCN, but you can't have it your way all the time. My Mustang is power hungry too...slurps 4.00 a gal fuel like it's free! Do I *****? (well, yeah, sometimes, ok..A LOT when I drive it!LOLOL) Not really because I BUILT IT SPECIFiCALLY TO DO THAT!!!
Can't have 500hp and sip gas like a dainty little Prius can you? No matter what AMD gives us there will always be someone here who thinks it better to blow $1000 on an intel chip for what is really not a huge improvement in power...

I prefer to p[lay with AMD because it doesn't hurt so much financially and I like to change things around a lot.IDK why i'm even posting this (oh, wait, yes I do! 444 posts of AMD/INTEL back/forth over a chip that no one has touched yet!) LMAObut I am kind of excited to see AMD putting out more and more offerings. The 7950's are getting cheaper by the second and that makes me even happier because I'm old enough to be quite happy with a "crappy 8 core 4.0 ghz rig with only a single 7950!. That leaves me more than enough discretionary income to keep the lights on no matter how many watts it pulls!!

i'll buy the chip that can give me the best performance at a reasonable price, i don't care about power consumption, i dont care about "more ways to overclock" that you are talking about either, because in the end it's all about performance, not about how the way you overclocked it.

My god all I hear from you is ME ME ME ME ME. Great you have an opinion. Awesome, glad to hear it. But my Post didn't mention in any way that Ghostrider85 loves to OC AMD. So as proud as we are you have an opinion, how about you get off your highhorse and give even the slightest credence to others opinions.

Edit: By the way I am loving this. So don't take any of my posts as angry. I love the banter and maybe I can open a few minds as well.

if amd can make a cpu that can outperform the 3570k/4670k, i'll buy their chip in a hearthbeat. i'm not a fanboy at all.
i actually had a crosshair v formula and phenom ii x4 970 before, the system that i prepared for the bulldozer, i was hugely disapointed.

Intel SB/IB is not fun to OC. You just literally sit there, plonk a h212 evo on it and then up the ratios. Boring.
OC'ing is all about doing it for fun and to enjoy not just sit there press something and then off you
AMD brings the fun to the OC'ing table! wink.gif

Amd is fun because you don't have to take s knife to your brand new processor to get the most out of it. Intel has really alienated me with its big "F You" o all of us who wanted the Tim fixed.

I have to admit I have gotten countless hours of enjoyment overclocking AMD and older Intel CPUs. And I just use cheap air coolers.
