You got a ton of other just as good options then just Cosair

Cosair is not everything on the PSU market

Go hx1050, all you'll ever need, modular, 5 year warranty. Corsair got some great customer support (atleast here in belgium), that's why I too love it.

There's no such thing as "future proofing" unless you're thinking of upgrading to a higher-TDP GPU. Newer hardware DEFINITELY draws less. Much less is possible

GTX 600 series vs 700 was definitely a turn to the worse in terms of power consumption, mind you. Granted the architecture didn't get an update there, but yeah, majority of the time tech becomes more power efficient by the generation.

Doesn't the TX series PSUs from Corsair have a 5 year warranty? (I know my TX 750 does) You might still have a year left on that. RMA it if you do. Corsair is pretty good about honoring their warranties. thumb.gif

I would do it even if you plan on getting another larger unit. Just so you would have a backup.

I thought it was MUCH lower with the gimped FP64? headscratch.gif
Or is it OC-ing where it is concerned because Nvidia uses enormous clocks and push a chip's to the edge just before it requires massive jumps in power consumption ... but wait, most Nvidia GPUs are voltage-locked. Even on the high-end

Op Play BFBC2 for 2 hours and see if you can recreate the reboot.
Also you consider Silverstone PSU's? Not the most famous but one of the best.

Sorry, I should have probably phrased that differently. What I mean by future proofing is giving myself plenty of head room in case I get say another 780 for SLI and also overclock those along with my CPU. It all starts adding up.

That's a good idea. Completely forgot about Corsair's warranty. Although the PSU is running fine at the moment.
