my opinion (I know you did not really ask, but hey..) biggrin.gif
update you motherboard BIOS, then first look is for a 3770K > 27/2600K > 3570K and roll with one of those.

I'm going to upgrade my 2500K to 3770K myself in my Surround rig.

And, dear sir, I am sure it is allowed to talk about mobile Hasy CPUs as well.
So let`s be happy and friendly.

The reviews are about Haswell K series processors meant for overclocking, not one of the reviews talk about any mobile cpu's. Sorry for being harsh on you but the fact of the matter is that Intel could have created a K cpu with no IGP for the enthusiast market, and a G series for mainstream/htpc folks.

I here ya. But I do more then game and I'll be the first to admit that not building a new machine since 08 is starting to grind on me. I've got the bug and I've sat out these past couple generations.

It's time to build a new machine. Not out of need, but want.

No need to upgrade my desktop. Waiting on some news on the mobile version of these. I'd love to get a lighter laptop than my current Sager NP 8130, which weighs like 8 lbs and has a huge power brick.

For people who chase silent computing.....

This is quite disappointing.

More power / heat in exchange for barely more performance.

Geez, what a big disappointment for Haswell. I thought I was going to replace my Nehalem desktop, but the results show that IB still has advantages over Haswell. Seems Haswell is better for laptops, notebooks, and ultrabooks. I think I rather spend my money on nVidia's GTX 7xx series video card since I'll see a huge boost in performance on games compared to my old one.

The only reason people think Intel has good performance is that AMD is so bad in comparison. I need higher IPC, I need higher overclocks, I need lower temps. None of these were accomplished. Haswell is good for laptops but why should I care, they generally suck for gaming.

Intel apologists claimed that earlier leaks were fake but once again the grim reality can be seen in the reviews.

Edit: Those reviewers giving Haswell gold awards should be ashamed.

Answer this or me please. How is AMD so bad, it does everything that Intel does and it's cheaper. It might not be as fast but who could tell in real life performance? Also the benchmarks are so close except for a few where Intel really beat AMD, but it's still over 60fps. So Please give me a real reason to go Intel? You guys are getting ripped off by Intel and you all stand and fight for them like they are paying you to use their product. What's so funny about all of this is, you guys are wasting money for nothing that has improved. biggrin.gif

The new part does the same amount of work using less energy. It's more efficient. How is that not significantly better?

False, stop posting garbage...

Your AMD chip needs to use 3x the amount of energy to perform the same task as an Intel chip...
