If I had money to burn I'd get coming from SB, but not IB, well maybe just to play with , but I wouldn't sell the IB (if I had 1)

At newegg Canada the 87 mobo's are up, no chips yet,

I'm going to buy Haswell anyway. I can't wait anymore.

if you're coming from nehalem or before there's no reason to wait

haswell will probably last you until they move off silicon completely, lmao

i myself am upgrading from an e6750 so a 4770k is a pretty big deal, especially since i do a lot of editing/rendering

not to dispute anyone's recollection; i really do not recall reading that haswell will be "an overclocker's dream" but did see where overclocking broadwell will be "interesting" . .
that is all.
Looks like your search function is broken.
He may not have said OCers dream (I definitely remember those lines) but they certainly embellished the truth and made it seem better than it actually is.
naw not broken, just didn't use it for that post. redface.gif

What do you usually do with your system? If you like to overclock, Haswell is worth it (can't tell you why but read the Haswell Anandtech preview very carefully for buried treasure). On-die graphics is improving quite a bit as well. If you're into energy efficiency or even more graphics, Broadwell. I think the tech community will be very pleasantly surprised with Broadwell. But I'm biased, so we'll just going to have to prove it the hard way.

ok, haswell worth it? TBH, that really isn't truly known yet until a few experienced overclockers gets their hands on it. however at this point it does look less than expected. i remember last year how folks called ivy a failure for overclocking because the temps got warmer than sandy but now, its not much more than a passing thought to most.

but the point of my post wasn't to dispute a chips failure or success; it was a dose of reality of what was or was not mentioned. it seemed an embellishment to me seeing folks claiming that it was announced to be an overclocker's dream.

an embellishment upon an embellishment?

imagine saving $100 for a product which will last you for several years

the same kind of delusional thinking where people pay $100 less for a phone with a $2200 contract attached to it

That's way way way way cheaper than anywhere in Canada, how many MC stores are there? How do they sell them so cheap?

it's probably bull****, but if it isn't, it's definitely referring to the BCLK straps, and i haven't seen a single review address those, all the overclocking so far has been done through multiplier

This was the only review that i could found the Temp, IS INTEL HIDDING THIS?

Talking about NDA release, not what OEMs have in their unreleased inventory. Please know what is being referenced.

NDA up on mobile Haswell? Haswell notebooks available for purchase before these K CPUs and their Z87 motherboards?

See from my partially quoted comment: "and had the NDA lift on a Saturday (no mainstream coverage). "
