serious?

Who in the world would sell a Titan for 700?

must have really needed the money. there is a guy local selling his evga titan for $800 and another guy local who also listed his on [H] for $850 (the latter wants a 780+$200 for his titan). those are lowest I've seen.

Well with the current wins in console they will have more free cash available to put money into desktop cpu's besides all the money they have to put in their mobile line up to secure their future.
No need for pre-mature judgement yet besides my i7 3820QM seems to do about the same as its Haswell equivalent as I don't use the IGP and Virtu Logic sucks.

I hope they come up with some good future plans - for their own good.

I really think this is an amazing release from Intel. I mean it's not really aimed at Desktops, but for those who use laptops, this is a hell of a lot better. The iGPU is a lot better and power consumption is better. For us gamers maybe it's not much of an upgrade, but idle is still better. TTL was saying his i3 server had a higher power consumption at idle than the 4770k. For those that upgrade every gen, this makes no sense (but neither does upgrading every gen) but for those with Nahelem Rig, it looks pretty damn good. Haswell also has better Usb 3 support and better memory support.

Idle power consumption being low = great for laptops.

For anything plugged into the wall, who cares?

Saving like 7 - 8 watts of power? That's meaningless.

An 8 watt power saving * 24 hours a day * 365 days a year = 70 kWh savings / year

at 13 cents / kWh (that's ~ nationwide average), you save 9 bucks a year

Oh. Okay.

This $1300 laptop has a dedicated GPU, does it count now?: http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-A53SD-TS71-750GB-NVIDIA-Laptop/dp/B0072VQHM0

-i7-2670QM 2.2GHz
-NVIDIA GeForce GT 610M 2GB Graphics

And for those that still think IGPs are crap, please refer to the PS4's APU, which has a slightly better GPU performance than the Radeon 7850. And such dedicated GPU is already a high-end gaming card for your average joe.

EDIT: Here's an A10 5800K's Tomb Raider performance. Take note how the detail setting was set to high:
