You would have bought a Haswell? That's a true downgrade from your 3960x. bigeyedsmiley.png

Thats my way of thinking aswell. Was gonna buy haswell if good, now its a choice between 3770k or 2700k,and i'm leaning towards the 2700k due to better thermals, and after researching that pci-e 3.0 is just not needed unless going high end crossfire/sli.As i'm going m-itx i will be just fine.

Unless anyone has an argument for 3770k other than pci-e 3.0?

I am just wondering about how the 3930k does for gaming. If you see the charts its usually on par with the 3770k, is this due to lower clocks? I havent researched the 3930k much, but for just a little more than Haswell you can have a 3930k. If the money is not as much as an issue is the 3930k clocked up nicely a good gaming rig? Or is just a waste of money?

It won't affect the MSRP of the 3770K at all. Individual retailers may hold sales to clear out their inventory, though.

It won't, except in the resale market. If you want a bargain look for someone who delidded their CPU, because "mods" like that kill resale value.
Even if it was done perfectly and the results are spectacular, it still kills resale value because 99% of people don't want to buy a chip that's been physically tampered with. To the average person, that chip is "damaged" (even if it's not)

You must be willing to deal w/ launch issues then. I'm not.

Hm... I'm curious if the Core architecture is starting to find it's limits.
