The article also states that lower tdp versions will have the same model igp w/o the edram implementation, therefore, depending on how badly bandwidth affects performance, its not far fetched to say that dual core gt3 models may be competitive/superior to AMD in performance.

Mind you, AMD's current offering is from October last year. Richland can already keep up with GT3e (almost), and it's just an overclock of their Trinity parts... Kaveri is the part set to fight Haswell.

Its MSRP is also close to 1/3 of Intel's...

im happy my i7-930 is @ 4ghz, no point in update only on gpu front, mite get it just for power draw if we can delid the chip. other then that the onboard gpu seems great but i mite want to hold out to see more cores, only thing i think will make me jump, or if i win dream pc just a x58 cpu with 6 cores i would be happy with a 780gtx and water block and newer ssd and my pc would be great for what i need.

...Intel i am dissapointed.

I mean the only reason to buy "high end motherboards" is if you want to use extra sata, usb, sli/xfire...etc But you can basically get the same result in oc as the lower end mobos.

Also as mentioned before, an i74775k or i5 version without the IGP would be amazing.

Waiting for haswel deledid club smile.gif.

Do these chips help push CF or sli at when maxed @1080p ?

Any review showing CF/SLi yet ?

Funny you mention that, because as a mobile SKU haswell is a groundbreaking product - the ULV parts will have 13 hours of battery life which is nearly double that of Ivy Bridge. This is what intel is focusing on - efficiency, not IPC. Haswell will sell like hotcakes in mobile products. Desktop isn't intel's primary consideration anymore, it sucks for us - But desktop doesn't sell like mobile does, period. We should all just get used to that.

you could do that now if you raise your current overclock..

Do any reviews actually mention S3 Sleep problem?

I assume we still have to wait for another months for fixed chipsets to become available.

Not sure about other sites by the Intel monitoring software kept crashing for me so I had the time to log temps under an overclock but nothing else. I don't think any other software properly supports Haswell yet....

As for overclocking results, there are a few things I wanted to mention:

- Anything above 1.35V is (IMO) a great way to kill a chip if used over the long term.

- I must have a freak chip since it didn't go above 80C @ 4.5GHz on a Noctua NH-U12S. And that's 3D stable...

- After trying for a few more hours this morning, it looks like I'm pretty much stuck at 4.6GHz or thereabouts.

- Haswell is NOT an overclocker's dream though the ridiculous number of BIOS options makes it LOOK like one....
