I assume we still have to wait for another months for fixed chipsets to become available.

Disable S3 sleep. Problem solved.

This is what intel is focusing on - efficiency, not IPC. Haswell will sell like hotcakes in mobile products. Desktop isn't intel's primary consideration anymore, it sucks for us - But desktop doesn't sell like mobile does, period. We should all just get used to that.

This thread isn't about mobile computing, it is about K series processors from Intel meant for enthusiast market.

But I guess for just gaming I might as well just snag a cheap 2600k, sell my 2500k and be happy

If you're just gaming, max out your 2500K or 3570K OC and wait. No reason to upgrade it whatsoever right now.

I swear, some times people like to complain. Kind of like wanting to buy a Ford Focus, then complain that you can not get 300 mph while getting 40 mpg and towing 30,000 lbs.

"But you can't overclock" argument is getting old. Let me help you out with something. Overclocking on a tablet or laptop is about as pointless as placing nitro on a scooter. Yes this is an overclocking site. Yes, it is a major part of your computer use. But if that was true, then haswell should have never been on your radar to begin with.

1. Haswell is a tock.

2. Several Intel folks talked up new OC features.

Intel is leading into Haswell with the K series, so it seems reasonable to examine how they overclock. Although they did lift NDA on a Saturday. =S Where as SB and IB were a Monday. I don't think that's random chance at work.

Where you got that info from?
Title says Haswell - thats it...

OT: I really hope that intel improves stuff for IVY-E and Hasy-E. At least I dont want to delid them.
That is imho the only sad thing about Hasy - the temps. wth.gif

For all the peeps who are planning to get one: I hope you have a lot of fun building the rig and playing with it!

What kind of solution is that? Some people do actually use S3 sleep. And it's a pretty critical feature for laptops, which are the primary target of Haswell...
