[Build Log] "Red Titan" 2xTitan, 350D, First Build in 17ish-yrs! - Page 2

Thanks all for the votes of confidence. Was going to go with a painted 600t with a pair of GTX 690's, but when I saw the 350D pics, I knew I had to hold off on the case, and by that time the Titan came out, and from what I was reading, sounds like a pair of Titans are the better choice, so Titans it is. A sound card is pretty much required in my mind: on board sound I am reading is catching up pretty darn fast, but.. discreet is the way to go from what I see. Kinaesthetic has a point though about the tightness of it and interference, but I think I will still go with it. Just have to find a card that has a shield over all of it, which I know exist.

Getting some fans in tuesday, so will be tossing those on, as well as taking some pics now about the primary mod I am doing for this machine - taking apart and swapping bits and pieces of the Titans in order to have it look the way I want. Part of it is stupid simple: spray paint on the silver bits. From what I am seeing so far however, the second part looks to be something of a handfull.

I want to see more of this. Been pondering the idea of doing a Micro atx Haswell build in the 350D lately.

This case looked awesome when I first saw it, you're basically doing my dream m-ATX system - too bad I've been bit hard by the mITX bug and don't think I could ever go back biggrin.gif

Subbed to this, looks very promising (I might even copy your red LED GTX idea)

No worries - I'll be posting a step by step on how to pull it off once I figure out how to do so myself in detail; already have a good idea on how I want to, just have to make sure reality matches my thoughts. From what I am seeing, its not going to be as easy as I thought, but... we'll know more in a few days.

Subbed. Looking like an awesome build.

Not considering the Corsair AX860/760? The red lettering might match better with your planned build.

I am seriously considering it. Thing is, I am sleeving the PSU cables, and I am hearing no end of comments along the lines of they are a right pain, compared to the Silverstone.

Sub'd! Been wondering how to get two 780s and a sound card on mATX. Would it make it easier to water block the cards... I guess not since the SC sits right over the back of the pcb...

Well crap....

OK, ASUS? You *really* don't have to use so much freaking locktite.

Was doing the teardown of the shroud to get them ready for paint and to get to the LED logo. All the screws came out easy as you could wish: A little torsion at first to break the locktite, and out they come, easy as pie.

Those 1.5mm black ones on the side?

Not so. Hex head goes in, a little torsion, and pow, instant stripped to hell head. On both, on both cards.

Well crap...
