You've no idea: I am really rather chuffed with how they came out. And once you take into account the two evil screws, it isn't that hard: I'd recommend that anyone doing a coloured theme build with any of the cards that use this shroud to do the same. Its not hard, provided you take time to paint it right.
In this case I cleaned them in warm soapy water, and dried them fully. Then, three *very* light coats of grey primer, hour between each coat, and then 3 hours after the last coat, 3 coats 2 hours apart of the Italian Red Testors Modelmaster Lacquer followed by to very light coats of the gloss topcoat. Two light coats isn't enough to make it glossy, but enough to cover it and give it a semi-glass finish without doing in the texture of the part itself.
