CPU upgrade help!!! fx60,0pty 185 or keep 4800???

hi , im not really happy with my 4800 OCin capabilities (3Ghz not very stable) would a fx60 or opty 185 give me better results? dont mind spending 2-3 hundred on them if its gonna alow me 3Ghz 24hr stable, + any 1 wanna buy a 4800?

The FX60 isnt that great an the overclocks on it are very poor. I would try your luck with a Ducl Core Opteron 165.

I think you mean Opty 185? But i doubt that unless you get phase change cooling that you are going to get stable at 3 ghz with either of those. Correct me if i'm wrong guys, but dual core AMD getting 2.8 is pretty good.

Yes 2.8 on a 939 Dual core CPU is good.

well as i say i have my 4800 @ 3ghz but i was asurming the fx60 n opty 185 would be more stable and better OCers....

is a fx60 really that bad? surely its better than a 4800..? + as you can tell by calling it a opty285 i have no clue on the potential of operons

The Opterons are more stable than the X2 series of CPU not to sure about the FX series however.

That Review does do the F-60 Some Justice...But its rather Pricey still IMO.

Save your money and get a opty 165. They will do 2.8 to 3.0 depending on stepping. The reason the fx 60 doesnt oc to well , is that its already pretty much at its max frequency.

Ditto. Save yourself alot of money. Get better performace.
