Editor idea

Thread Starter
The recent talk about our Editors gave me an idea, I present it to the members. I do not think too many of us knows what it is like to be an Editor, it is boarder line unfair to criticize what we know little about. I suggest that Editors get assigned what could be called "a right hand man" (pulled from a list of volunteers). This right hand man will get trained by the current Editor and eventually brought up to a level that they could be the Editor. During the training period all work that the trainee has mastered would be transferred to him. This would allow Editors that are short on time to have a life. This process would make it a bit less scary to say you will take on the job as an Editor. If someone has an idea how to modify my idea please feel free to post and fit the idea in. Maybe this training process is already done to some degree, if this is so just let us know.

I like the sound of this.

I'm interested to see what the community thinks of this!

I read somewhere on the site that a lot of communication is done by Skype. Is it true that Editors make use of Skype to a large degree?

very much so. Skype is a pretty typical thing for us to use. It's normal to have a quick conference or to talk about ideas.

I've forgotten my Skype handle but if anybody wants it, I'll be happy to throw it out there for anybody that wants to talk about w/e related to folding.

edit: it's Djdiddlez

Very interesting Idea. Haven't been around here for very long (<1 year) but already feel very much a part of the community. I think this idea would certainly increase the management 'talent-pool', as well as help keep this forum's content rich, constructive, and up-to-date.

I'd love to be a helper! biggrin.gif

Cho, I would also love to be a helper but that old fear that you can't measure up keeps tugging me back. Helping created a spread sheet or enter data seems like it should be easy enough.

You never know until you try! I would like to think that a bunch of us here could be collectively quite useful to the site!

Oh, I don't have anything to do after TC went to heck.  I've been watching for postbits to approve the last two days, LOL, then I realized today that the stats aren't updating on the OCN site, so no new postbits will be there for me.

I guess I could make a guide for something.
