The FX 8350 is pretty equal to Intels 2010 offerings.

Sandy Bridge was a pretty big step forward in 2011.

Socket 1366 to Fx 8350 with overclocking in mind gaming should be the same and they should be close in multi threaded.

I loved my i7 930 and my RE3 good times...

Intel and Amd owners alike need to PRAY that steamroller shows us something.. so intel has a reason to give us some performance with Broadwell...

In the highend the difference between 100fps and a stable 120fps is huge.

It takes a Ubber system to game at 120fps at max settings.. I build with those goals in mind.

I don't care really either way lol , i dont go searching out sources etc, i just go by what i can do personally smile.gif

Too old to care about having best, ill just defend the 8350 though because by alot of people you all say this is crap, when it clearly isnt......bulldozer was puke, they got it better with the visheras and they'll continue to do alot better in future

Well thats what i hope

Edit i forgot to ask and too tired to look

How much performance gains has the new intels had over its predecessor

Vishera improved over BD alot in gaming but other then heat there is not much of an improvement anywhere else besides afew places Clock for Clock.

Ive looked at FX chips for folding rigs.. Cpus are cheap... but when i add a MB i need for the amount of gpus i want it get just as expensive as a IB i5.

do you really think hyperthreading is good as a real core? I said Intel beats its it clock to clock per core performance but amd does better multi threading for half the cost good god man open your eyes and close your wallet.

and AMD has real cores now, when did that happen..?
one man's finances and how he chooses to spend is his business.

just saying.

At least you have a sane mind. + Rep.

Honestly, what I was trying to get through with my entire schpeal was that the FX-8350 is a solid CPU, but its not the best out there given Ivy Bridge and Haswell offerings especially. I don't understand it when people say the FX-8350 is complete and utter garbage, because its not. Its just not the best out there, which is what a lot of vie to go for when buying.

looking forward to the fx9000, hopefully it isnt 5 bills like the rumors say.

I don't understand why this is even up for comparison....

Thats kind of why I was asking to inform me on how much garbage my cpu was. Is it garbage...well I certainly dont think so considering that I can bench @ 5.4 and be fully stable @ 5ghz. Is it the best, nope, do I like it and have fun with it, yep. Now I also have the 4770K ordered and on its way currently, I will be able to have first hand experience with both chips soon.
