if I could go back in time then I would have built an i7-3820 rig then upgraded to IB-E,
possibly a 3930K in-between if the clocked 3820 wasn't cutting it.
I say this in replacement of my 3570K rig I have now as I have a 2500K rig too.

I'd say go 4770k if you have the money:
Although it appears the next amd processor will stay on the same socket, Intel also tends to push out some upgrades for their sockets after the initial release.
So either one you go for will have upgrades for the future, but I place my money on the 4770k.

4770k for multiple reasons.

...I'm still waiting for someone to benchmark an overclocked one on a real liquid cooling loop, not some crap corsair h100.

4770K > 8350. I would explain in detail but I'm too tired. This is from an AMD fan.

Hopefully I can help you out here. I currently have the 8350 stable at 5ghz btw, can bench at 5.4. I have already ordered the 4770K but unfortunatly no one has the ASUS ROG line motherboards yet....so I am patiently waiting for those to release. Oh and I have a real loop so I am curious as well.

4770K WILL stomp all over a 8350 with ease. People need to stop with the steamroller nonsense and just get with the times. Everybody can speculate all they want. Until cold, hard, facts show up, I'm not holding my breath for anything. If bulldozer and haswell has taught me anything, it's that never get your hopes up for cpu's until the reviews are out. If you want all out, raw cpu power with no regards to price, then go Intel. If your on a budget and need to put together a good pc that will last you 2+ years, go AMD. It's that simple!
