7950/70 definitely 2GBs of VRAM just isn't going to be enough for the near future.

Forgot about the 1GB vram. On a 1080p television your definitely going to want some form of AA.

An AMD 7950 or a 680 might be worth considering, seeming as you can now get a 680 for a pretty reasonable price now.

What do you mean?

Right now aside from the VRAM of your 6950 I personally think the CPU will be the next bottleneck.

Driver wise I cant really comment, I don't own a recent AMD card. But from what I can work out the AMD drivers have really been improving.

I hear the June driver 13.6 should be one to look forward to as it should help the frame timing issue the AMD cards have been suffering from.

I don't have any complaints for my Nvidia drivers though.

in the long run the 7950 would provide good result's, in a overclock situation Kepler's scaling isn't great it's decent at best. a 7950 is a strong scaling overclocker which has managed to go into 7970 minor OC territory aswell has managed to beat the 680 in several benchmarks iirc.
