I have had terrible experience with Xbox Live kiddies screaming weird things while playing lol. Why would I want to pay extra for that?

With PC games 'Online is free'.
With Android games 'Online is free'.
With MAC games 'Online is free'.
With DS games 'Online is free'.
With PS3 games 'Online is free'.
With Wii U 'Online is free'.

Literally every other gaming platform out there gives you free access to play the games you already purchased online. Microsoft are the only ones that don't. It is in no way a better service, in fact it's so full of advertising and ways to pay for other services you already receive for free, I would say it is in fact the worst of all internet services.

Like I said before I will vote with my wallet. Will never support greed like this.

Again your inexperience to know the benefits live has just goes to show that you have no idea what your talking about.

Clearly all PC games don't have free online, WOW requires payment to play and so do other MMO's. Also for most games that you play online (like BF3) dedicated servers are required, you think the Dev's are the one supporting the server cost? Nope it is private groups. PC is also riddled with hackers.

Now for one, LETS STOP BRING PC's INTO THIS. Most people don't play games on a PC, PLAIN AND SIMPLE.
As for Online console experience, you can not party chat with friends on both the ps3 and WiiU. On xbox you can, and i'm willing to bet some would pay just for that feature as no other console has it. PS4 is getting a button that will allow its users to jump into other peoples games, but XBL has had that core functionality for ever. 360 is also more chat centered, this is why you have more people talking with a xbox vs ps3. Not to mention that PSN now is a lot better then it was for the first few years, maybe if you took time to look at the entire picture vs now then XBL vs PSN is a totally different thing. PS3 didn't even get a in game dash board till later in its life. Trying to send a message to someone with a PS3 used to be a chore. Xbox Live has been a pleasure to use its entire life.

If you think just being able to play online is the only thing that matters then you my friend at totally missing the point. The Xbox is a machine built around people playing games online, and people who do play games online tend to stray more toward the xbox for that vary reason. I would like to see you send a game invite on the PS3 when the other user is not playing the same game as you. YOU CAN'T BTW. Can on the 360...

If everyone settled for good enough everyone would drive honda civics around, but people like a little class in their lives. If you have friends and want to play with them, then XBL will do the job much much better. If you just want to get online to play with someone else, damn the server response time (Uncharted 2 took like a full hour of syncing the first time I played to get online) not the only PS3 game to take a long time to get into multiplayer mode ether, then the PS3 barely gives you that right. Plus Friend support is more up to the game itself instead of being built into PSN.

Your wallet must be pretty empty if XBL yearly cost is to much for ya tongue.gif
Some would rather pay and get over with it just so they don't have to jump though hoops getting into the same online match their friends are in.

While I do think xbox live should be free, or at least the netflix and hulu part, your still getting a more premium service vs other consoles. Most xbox users already pay for live so the netflix and hulu part really don't effect MS as much as you think.

Also don't help that the PS3 controller sucks money balls at FPS gaming. Crappy designed analog sticks are the root problem, hope they fix that. Even the ps2 has better analog stick mechanisms.

The two people in this thread that are defending MS on the XB1 mustn't care for consumer rights at all. Stockholm Syndrome if I've ever seen it. You've got the entire tech community and all of OCN pointing out the issues with this console's draconian DRM, and the best defense you can mount is "PSN sucks." Really?
I have a 360/PS3/3DS and rarely play any of them.
I don't pay for XBL anymore, as I haven't touched my consoles in ages other then to play gears 3 and halo 4. Last Game I played on my PS3 was uncharted 3.
I can't stand playing on current gen consoles because of the poor image quality.
But then again, I'M NOT THE NORMAL GAMER.

If anyone is the fanboy it is you, do a little research before posting false claims. Also I can't stand COD, BF fan myself (still have my BF 2 discs).

Xbox One will let you watch TV on you console, the PS4 will not
Xbox One will have its games install to the hard drive and you no longer need to use the disc after that, PS4 don't seem to be that convenient.
Xbox One and PS4 will both accept used games
Xbox One will have dedicated servers for all games, PS4 will not
Xbox One has a feature packed OS, the PS4 does not
Xbox One has a high tech camera system that you can interface with both body and voice, PS4 does not
List can go on.

PC's have been using non intrusive DRM for years, MS stated playing a game on the One will be no harder then the 360.

You lack any fact and when you get pushed all you do is spew some bull like a picture and call them a fanboy. It is you who are a misinformed fanboy, next time you claim PSN can do everything XBL can do you better have the facts to back it up.

And to Dyson Poindexter, MS is giving its Xbox One users more rights then Steam users get. So why don't you put your tinfoil hat back on so the government can't read your brain thoughts.

One day, considering all the upgrades that the 360 went through, you may be talking to your xbox like you would a person and it will talk back. And with the cloud it would be pretty easy once they get the software going. If that doesn't shout future tech then I don't know what does.

I own a PS3 and Xbox 360. I don't favor either.
Everybody needs to stop jumping on the bandwagon.

THis is perfectly fine, I've been paying for xbox live for 4 years and guess what's never happened to our network?
Oh wait i remember now, the PS3 was down for what 2 months due to being compromised? mmm

Didn't Sony give people like $100 worth of free games for that? I'm also pretty sure Sony has far better prices for games you buy from the store.

I own neither, but I'm not comfortable with the shift in consumer rights and the elimination of the first sale doctrine. Regardless of what console you do or don't like, these policies are bad for us.

these are pretty much my thoughts. all the negatives of it and then they expect me to pay more for superior social features? so it's easier for annoying 14 year olds to force me to listen to them? great

as for people saying we shouldn't compare to pc, why not exactly? popularity is irrelevant to this comparison, it's just about functionality

I think people might have thought Microsoft would make Gold free considering the fact that the new Xbox One sucks in all aspects and the reveal was a disastrous catastrophe.

More like it improved on every aspect, a lot.

Waiting for the games still, but that's to be seen still.
