The reveal using the word TV too much.

The fact that the Xbox pings every 24 hours.

The fact that the yet to be properly explained used game system will be like it is on PC.

The tin foil hat theories of Kinect.

Nobody (significant enough to matter) will care in twelve months time.

Because, it is the games, the software, the content that shifts platforms, not the other way around. The phrase "killer app" doesn't exist for no reason.

If MS went all in with the gaming in the reveal and people were still unimpressed, then it would be easier to make predictions.

However, MS have not actually shown their hand yet regarding what actually matters to gamers, which means it is pointless to assume how successful it can be at this point in time.

pretty much, it's the games that will decide whether or not the other things are worth the "risk"

This morning, on OCN's newsfeed I saw some article about the FBI not needing a warrant to get your google information. How many of you guys went straight to your gmail and deleted everything, unplugged your computer, and hid in the closet? I mean seriously....what are you soo afraid of.

I have a ps3, 2 360's, a wii and a couple 3ds's. I am by no means a fanboy of any system.

If you say ps3 online is better than xbox you have clearly not plaid online. I used to play mag, it was dam near impossible to find someone who had a mic and could communicate. Xbox one even launch titles still have lots of people playing with mics. Ive paid for gold since launch and have had ps3 since launch and online play has always been better on xbox.

People need to stop bashing the new xbox until its actually know what it is your bashing.

Efit:we really need to remember we are not the normal consumer they are targetting. Just like in pc's we are not the norm. Stuff we complain about is not a problems to others. What im trying to say his while alot here are complaining about valid points, 99.9% of console user dont care about those issues.

Less revenue for the developers means less employees, possibly the loss of great ideas, and less risk taking. That's detrimental to ALL gamers, not just the used sales

wait you mean game developers have to deal with people being able to resell, just like pretty much every other industry in existence.

i can sell my dvd on ebay? but isn't that detrimental to mgm?

if the game industry is struggling so much financially, maybe they should rethink their high cost, high revenue (but not necessarily high profit) strategy. maybe gamers are bored of dumbed down cinematic games that try to have universal appeal, like blockbuster-style movies, but lack any artistic value or depth

I just sold a Mazda second hand. Guess I must have to write a check and mail it to their HQ in Japan. rolleyes.gif

Second hand sales is a right of the consumer, and a pivotal part of a free market society.

DVD sales are only icing on the cake. Avengers made over 1 billion dollars in the theaters. Have you seen a theater for games? Nope.....You didn't answer my question though. People are just soo righteous here and willing to support gamestop but not the actual developers.

Needless to say, the issue with used sales is just a minor issue (a complete non-issue to most)

Also, negative publicity =/= positive publicity. That saying "any publicity is good publicity" isn't true.

This has been discussed at length on these forums but, once again, it is actually, constitutionally violating to "snoop" on that "creepy as hell forced camera system."

By constitutionally violating, I mean that you'd see the likes of a lawsuit 4-5x larger then their monopoly lawsuit, years ago.

What they CAN do is monitor your use while the Kinect is in USE...However, when it's not -- They cannot "peer" through the looking glass.

Ontop of that, if people don't like the new features; don't buy the console.

Xbox Live costs as much as it does because those are cycled enterprise racks...Millions+ per rack...Sony does not buy their customers brand new racks to game on...Sony recycles what they have to re-use...Thus, XBL costs $$$$ and you disconnect CONSTANTLY on Sony's attempt at being relevant.

Also, if you actually read the article (Which many of you CLEARLY failed to) you're not required to be on-line 24/7...Only to receive updates and CAN watch movies/play games off-line...That being said, I haven't turned on my playstation for 2 weeks, went to watch a movie and DENIED -- Why? Didn't have the latest update...So, again, I don't quite see the difference here...If I can't watch a movie without having to do an update...What's so "evil" about Xbox One having to be online to receive updates?

And P.S. publicity is publicity, period...Negative or positive, it's still publicity...The adage is absolutely correct.

That's a really weak (actually completely crap) argument.

Most products aren't for exhibition, yet, are freely sold second hand; Why is software magically exempt?

so how would they put in place a system for gamers to sell both physical copies of games and virtual copies of the games? Sure didn't stop people buying Mass Effect 3, Crysis 3, pretty much any Steam game, etc...Guess we should just boycott the PC too?

I suppose I'm arguing with somebody that relies on the lower prices of used games prices? (or just something based on principle? )
