I mean, WHY do they charge us the same for half the services? We've already seen features that will be USA-only. If the subscription fee remains the same across the world I won't keep paying for it.

I hear ya, I live <20kms from the US/Canada border and have the same issues. Very frustrating.

I can't afford consoles, I'm a PC'er.

Why would you try to prevent consumer education?

Heh, the seriousness within your writing gave me a good chuckle. Also, I cannot prevent consumer education, nor do I have the power to censor anything on this site. Censoring would be having the ability to completely shutdown any "x" type of talk, which sounds tedious in itself and not something I would be interested in the first place. I was however targeting those that only complain. Start a petition, write your local state representative, become president and veto the Xone. You think that bashing everything Microsoft has thrown our way on a forum actually amounts to anything? No, because after awhile it looks childish and alienates the people you are trying to "reach out to and inform" with your complaints.

You know; we don't have all the facts yet, so I'm inclined to reserve judgment. I'm supportive of Xbox One as I am of PS4. Why fight about it when you can have them all??

But I must say, my son is almost 12 and I went to find the Xbox Live Gold Family Pack for $99.00 so I can add him and the rest of my family. (That pack supported 4 people) Guess what? It doesn't exists anymore as of March of this year and they removed it quietly without saying anything until someone called em on it. (I just found out this week.) Source

I'm not paying the fee for four individual live accounts. There's no way. (and I'm an MS fan / Meaning I don't called them "M$" or have a bent against them)

I hope they start talking about new pricing tiers soon because I'm having a hard time, even as a fan, justifying the cost of Xbox Live Gold.

Now. Nails in coffins and all that sort of non-sense??? This console is going to sell out, sell big and be just as popular as it's previous iterations. Maybe not with this group (OCN) but again, we're the niche. You folks need to remember that.

If you can do it better; Go do so. Give us everything you'd want at little to no cost. I'd be happy to see it.

Your apathy gives me a good chuckle. Discouraging people from voicing their opinion is an attempt at preventing education and censorship. Just because the message may not reach a ton of people doesn't mean it's not worth stating. Stating something on here may get people to spread it elsewhere. Anything is better than just shutting up and accepting whatever companies put out. People start petitions all the time, but what good is it if people aren't aware of the issues in the first place?

That's not the point. The point is that MS could do better, but people aren't informed well enough to pressure them to do so.

I remember reading an article about how paying for Xbox Live made sense back when online gaming was in its infantile state (yes, I know online gaming was around before Xbox Live but nothing has pushed it forward the way Live has) but that now, it's almost a required part of video games and video game culture and that it no longer holds the same sense of value it once did. Their premium services are actually not premium at all. There is nothing you can do with a Gold Xbox Live account that you cannot do with Steam or PSN; or at the very most, premium features that have not yet been added to Steam or PSN as regular expected features.

It's one of, if not the most popular and successful online service in history. It's left its mark on the industry and has helped push socialization in games like never before. The issue is that what it once provided as a new, fresh and innovative service is now offered by legions of other service providers for free. One cannot deny the impact of Xbox Live but I think Microsoft needs to remember what year it is and what has happened over the course of the last 3-5 years.

So Microsoft are now supporting Second Hand sales also?
Looks like people have no reason to hate now.

It was always more or less known over the last few months that they will support second hand games, it was the re arming method that people where barking about...you know the fee that may make second hand games the same price as new ones's...

What company couldn't??

All roads lead to the same place for these folks. Earnings reports. Jobs. Investors. They market to the masses. That is the point. They can't be everything to everyone. If they tried, they'd be broke and out of business with crappy products. You may say it IS crappy. But again, we're the niche and we still don't have all the facts.

GC: So the other big question is about second-hand games. Does the Xbox One block their use in any way?

CL: We will support that very important dynamic that our gamers love, our retail partners love, all of those things we will continue to support and we’ll provide more details as to how that will work in the coming weeks and months

I particularly enjoyed this answer. "How that will work", it already works just fine and your answer simply leads to one conclusion you are going to modify it and try to make money of it.
