Sound card for Sennheiser PC360

Greetings,
I have my headset (PC360) with onboard soundcard for some time, and I decided its time for upgrade. What would you recommend for me when I am hoping to spend around 100 bucks? And will the quality of microphone improve with soundcard? No matter how I set it or position it, the microphone picks up the letter P and such in a very strong way so its annoying for anyone who is listening to me.

For $100? A Creative Soundblaster Z.

A soundcard will not improve your mic, at least not in the way you want it to — to remove the high "P"s when you are talking. This is a common issue and can be somewhat reduced if you're willing to put a pantyhose or something similar around the mic.

A pop filter will work best but unfortunately, I don't know how you'd install one on a headset with a mic.

I see, and I should stretch it on and fasten it with some sort of rope or what?

No, I have not had any problems with my mic, at least none that warranted anyone mentioning it to me.

So what to pick Creative Soundblaster Z or Creative SB X-Fi Titanium HD? Given the fact I wouldnt be too happy about giving so much for Titanium
post #9 of 15
Could be something wrong with your microphone. If anything my voice comes across clearer with the pc360 versus other headsets I've had. Soundblaster z a friend has it and he seems very happy with his purchase. I went the asus route

Alright, so my onboard sound card seems to be really dying, hear more and more crackle and I tried 3 headsets. Right now I have 150 bucks in my pocket, but I would be happy if I had most of it left because this money should last me a while on "personal" purchases. So my options are to either buy the Titanium and have absolutely nothing for some time. Buy Creative Z and have some cash in my pocket, or go with some budget sound card such as Asus Xonar DG, what to do? (Or should I buy some speakers? I borrowed one from my brother and the audio seems to be somewhat better, while the speakers are 25 bucks logitech ones)
