Sandy bridge E Versus Haswell (Look here need some advices!)

Hello!

Yesterday Haswell was released tongue.gif

So i'm going to buy a new computer, for my Crysis 3 build log

And i have a really good deal from a guy that i buy from

I can get a

3820
MSI X79A-45GD
16gb ram
hx 850

for about 450 $

that's a really good price but i can get a

4770K
Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UDH4
16GB ram Kingston KyperX Beast

for around 900 $

But i have around 1100-1250$ dollars to spend on a full system with the haswell!

So if anyone could find me a good CPU cooler and a PSU 850w plus, modular? that would be awesome smile.gif

The point is that i can get a x79 system for 450$ and a full haswell for almost triple that money, But is Haswell worth it?

Come on let me hear you!

Thanks for reading this, Virtual hug.... no homo.

No brainer really, going with the X79 setup will be a better choice. Then you can spend the rest of your money on better parts. Perhaps a nicer GPU, more SSD's, etc. and when Ivy-E comes out you can always upgrade. Haswell isn't all that amazing. There is slight IPC increase, and overclocking is improved a bit (higher clocks lower voltages). However, it seems temps might actually be even worse than Ivy.

That deal is pretty solid for the 3820 and @ 4.6/4.7GHz you will be more than pleased.

Good CPU coolers right now: Swiftech H220, Corsair H110, NZXT Kraken X60, Corsair H100i.

Definitely go with Sandy-E at that price. Leaves so much more money for other components. the 4770k would only leave you like 200-350 for a GPU and other stuff when the Sandy-E leaves you with enough for a dual GPU solution (since this is a crysis 3 build I'm assuming you'll need dual GPUs.)

You dont need 850 watts its way overkill even with two video cards and Cosair units are overhyped and overpriced
