I'm happy with the 780, but disappointed that I'm not seeing that much of an increase especially considering how much I paid. Even Geforce Experience isn't changing my recommended settings with the 780 installed (albeit most games are maxed anyway). I've been playing the BF4 beta since yesterday and even with the newest NVidia beta driver meant for BF4 my framerate sucks. Sometimes it's smooth, but most of the time I'm in the 30s. I don't know if that's due to it being a demo (the game is done, so I don't know why they would be using beta code vs. final code). The game is already off for production, which means this code should be the same as the code that is being pressed at the DVD facilities.
I'm seriously considering going for 670sli since I'm not getting locked 60fps on any of the top end games (Borderlands 2, Tomb Raider, Metro: Last Light).
As I have said earlier on in the post, that I picked 2x gtx 670 SLI, works great, very good cards, very nice FPS. I have also grabbed 144hz monitor so its super smooth. Regarding BF4, its really strange game seems to have CPU bottleneck problems. I run the game super fine 90-140 FPS all maxed, no problem. However many people on my team were writing about FPS issues, for instance a guy with GTX 690 was writing about FPS drops, however he had i5-2600k. In my case I currently use i7-4770k @4.8ghz. My guess would be game in a current state, somehow doesn't like older processors?
In any case, go for GTX 670's SLI. The ONLY "Problem" I have with those, and maybe thats me because silly, but its the temperatures. For example if I uncapp FPS, lets say Metro Last Light - a card hungry game. So everything maxxed gives me very nice FPS 90-150 BUT cards get quite hot 73-78c. I like my cards to be MAX at 70, prefferably 60-70c. So what I do is for every game that is single player and does not require 100+ FPS to be more competitive, I use Adaptive V-sync at half refresh rate ( in my case 144hz monitor = max 72fps in games ) which makes the cards work at ~30-40% and keeping them cooler while providing constant 72 fps. Which is amazing and great.
I can only recommend those sweet cards.
