The Xbox One will be running Apple OSX with Windows 8 in bootcamp all thanks to cloud computing allowing for EA (who recently bought Activision)to launch the latest CoD game with the much appreciated DRM and of course word of DLC already available prior to the launch.

That would be off the charts... and also because mods also hate them, posts defending some of those *cough*Win8*cough**cough*Cloud computing*cough*

Well there's your problem. You are using your PC for production and work reasons. Crazy person.

My boss actually bought me a MS surface...I gave it back. It would have been great for watching movies or surfing facebook...but for doing work it just wasn't ideal. When I am working from home I typically fire up my Windows 7 VM to work in rather than use the Windows 8 I have on my main desktop.

However, once you actually opened the document it shouldn't be that much different. If the screen is resizing and such by touching the mouse pad it is probably something the laptop manufacturer built into it. I've seen and complained about that on Windows 7 even.

Sadly because it works very well.

I rather enjoy using W8 on my school laptop. While I do understand the hate, the OS is better in a lot of ways.

And I think we can all agree that W8 is far FAR better then Vista, and W8 isn't even a year old. Once 8.1 hits a lot of my problems with it will be gone!

(I still won't use it on my gaming rig though... too many issues with 2+ displays...)

There should a notification icon that has your trackpad, you should be able to adjust it from that.

What? They didn't make the damn OS, they just bought it.

Mmmm not everybody. There is several legal ways of getting it for free. One of them, for example, if you are in university (either as student or staff member) which is part of MS academic alliance (or however they call it nowadays). You can even get such windows versions through that which you cant buy off the shelf, stuff like enterprise and embedded editions etc. Pretty clever program and profitable for MS most likely as they are getting people used to their op system who will be the next gen decision makers in IT things. Giving em the free OS early on might make some of them to not learn to use and like Linux or other alternatives.

"free"

I don't know about at other universities but at mine we had to pay a tech fee for lab use and access to MSDN. Most of us got it just to have, still heavily preferred linux for most work.

Yeah I've always said the MSAA program was a scam...and yet the college has to pay to belong to it or at least that was what I was told by some professors. Heh, I probably have 300GB of stuff from the MSAA as of two years ago that I've never ever installed yet (plus another 300GB that I have used or still use today). I just grabbed everything because I could. There was all sorts of crazy stuff on there too. However, what it did was get me used to using things like Exchange Server...MS SQL Server...One Note...ect...so now it is what I know and what I want to use. Complete scam...but in the end it probably is good for both parties.

It's not about falling for it, it's about choice.
