MSI Z87 Thread - Xpower & Mpower Max BIOS screens and info - Page 3

I see CPU Core Voltage Mode only as Override, Adaptive and Auto. Are you referring to this? I'm sorry to bother you frown.gif.

EDIT: So I used Adaptive Mode. I kept the CPU Core Voltage at 1.150V and did an offset - Auto.

I'm aware that the VCore increases way over the set amount when running a benchmark but will this happen for other intensive apps such as games or compiling C++ code using Visual Studio 2012?

Also, what exactly does offset do here. If I do offset - a number, will it shave off some volts from the base constantly?

Yes, try changing this setting to Auto or Adaptive; and make sure your Intel C-state options are enabled with EIST.. this should get vcore scaling with speed.

Thanks a lot. I noticed when I changed the CPU Core voltage mode to adaptive and try to put 1.15V or 1.1V - Auto, it always does 1.156V in CPU-Z. Is this correct? What if I want it lower? Should I change the offset from Auto to some number and make the CPU Core Voltage Offset mode to [-] ?

Thank you so much for helping me smile.gif

EDIT: Ah putting a number for offset did the trick. Kudos to you sir for helping me

It's a new ball game buddy ,this platform needs offset due to all different voltages involved (it's actually pretty straight forward ) pretty good explanation in this egg video (Click to show)

XPOWER ...

Big brother.. meet.. well .. you know  ;)

Things lighting up on first boot....

First look at the BIOS and Auto voltages using my 4670k :

Some of the new power options in the Digital Power menu:

**There are also all of the RAM Training options from the Mpower-Max, as well as adjustable voltages for the PLX chips on-board, handling 4x way PCI-E duties ! Initial look is good, and voltages are pretty spot on the Mpower Max [exception being I need .05v more vcore and .5v more SVID on this board to run 4ghz 4c/4t vs the Max].

**Strap setting in BIOS still appears broken.. must leave bclk strap selection to Auto and enter bclk manually to boot outside of '1.0' strap range.

** More to come as I start poking at the boards internals a bit.cheers.gif

That board is huge. I'm doing some 5ghz 32m on the mpower today. My efficiency is way off and I don't know how to get the uncore to run closer to 1:1. I wish I knew what voltages influenced what. Also,is there some sort of Memtweakit that works for this?

Ring voltage is your uncore.. try 1.15 for starters and work up from there. I set a ring voltage and just moved ring multi until it posted.. then kept scaling from there.

*as for 32m.. you need to focus on the training section and dialing in tertiary timings. Memtweakit 2.00.01 works to read only.. none work to set timings yet though.
