**There are also all of the RAM Training options from the Mpower-Max, as well as adjustable voltages for the PLX chips on-board, handling 4x way PCI-E duties ! Initial look is good, and voltages are pretty spot on the Mpower Max [exception being I need .5v more vcore and .5v more SVID on this board to run 4ghz 4c/4t vs the Max].

Wait you need 0.5V more VCore? Do you mean 0.05V tongue.gif ?

*yes, corrected in my post -> .05v core and .5v VCCIN/SVID higher than Mpower Max

I will be testing some xfire setups on the board, after I do some more initial bios testing and confirm things I need are working satisfactory.

On initial testing I can confirm the only thing not working is the strap selection so far.. which isnt an issue, as bclk moves the strap properly. I have not been able to post at 167mhz bclk yet.. still tweaking.

Guys,

Sorry to butt into the thread, but maybe someone here can help me find some info that so far is alluding me.

Do these MSI Z87 boards come with a Lucid Virtu MVP 2.0 License ?

Its a feature I want, bit not necessarily pay the $89.99 per year subscription, so i'm looking for a Z87 board that maybe comes with a free or OEM license for it.
I do have a Z77 board with the Virtu MVP 1.0 license, but that version doesn't get updated often anymore.

MSI seems to be about the only manufacturer who have anything about Virtu MVP 2.0 on their Z87 mobo pages.

Cheers if anyone can help me redface.gif

it comes with the mpower, mpower max and the xpower if you are interested. I think it may come with the other gaming series as well

Excellent thanks for that, looking at getting one of these boards now.

Does the license have an expiry date once the software is activated ?

Retail buyers of Virtu MVP have to pay $89 per year for it, so im thinking its too good to be true for an unlimited ongoing license included with a mobo !!!

MSI Xpower - Results from some testing earlier.. all air, low volts. 168+ bclk

multi-threaded test, CPU/Uncore 1:1 @ 4.55ghz, low RAM speeds

4.7ghz CPU, 4.55ghz uncore

GPU test, CPU @ 4.72ghz / Uncore @ 4.55ghz, low RAM speeds

Qwk Vantage run that started the session..[just threw this in for giggles]

DPC Latency check is VERY GOOD !!!!!

** Things noted thus far:

-No tRRD '4' adjustment.. = makes me sad

-OC buttons are ftw!

- MSI Control Center reports incorrect voltages; would not use

- DO USE MSI/Intel XTU; which contains all the same functions minus fan control [which works fine on CC].. and they do work/scale/apply <-all of the above  ;)

-3D efficiency looks good with PLX - more testing to come
