It has D-Pak MOSFETS, which have a 1/4 rating for MOSFET quality. D-Pak MOSFETs are just terrible.

Ok I have a question. I've got my 2500k running at 4.5 and when I pull up HW monitor it shows my CPU VCORE and .98V (Value), 0.008V (Min), and 1.832V (Max). My temps are 28 degress idle and low 50s when under load. In my BIOS I have the CPU core voltage set too offset mode with the offset voltage +0.005V, LLC 2, and Turbo Voltage at Auto. Should I be concerned with that 1.832V?

Spec:
2500k @ 4.5
Asrock Z77 Extreme4
Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Hyper 212 Evo running with a push/pull config
SeaSonic S12II 620 Bronze 620W
Galaxy GTX 680

From my personal experience with a 2500k that degraded, 1.4 is the max you should ever run for 24/7. If your temps aren't optimal, lower that to 1.35. I had a 2500k that would do 4.8 at 1.4 when I got it. By the time I got rid of it, it had degraded to 4.8 at 1.52 after running it at 4.9 at 1.48. Temps were fine and I could have just been unlucky but that's what happened to me.

I think max safe is different for everybody,

I run my 2500k around 1.48v/1.5v for over 18months now, maximum temps with P95/IBT reach around 85c/90c.

Still running the same as on launchday, with 0% noticable degration

People should stop "testing" their OC with Prime95. With all the hours people have been wasting on testing their system's Prime95 torture test, they could've just downloaded/intalled F@H and let that churn away for a day. THEN you'd know your system if fine (can even test your GPU's as well wink.gif )
