Returning EVGA GTX680 for a new GTX770 series? Only 3 days left to return!

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I purchased a EVGA GTX680 2GB not even 30 days ago:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=gtx680&N=-1&isNodeId=1

Obviously, the new 770 and 780 series are out now. I could thereotically return this card as I have about 5 days remaining.

I would have to eat a 60$ restocking fee, a 15$ shipping fee, and the price is lower now on the card so I think they will refund me only about 360$ (after all the aforementioned is factored in) versus the 469$ I originally paid for the card.

What do you guys think I should do?

The main game I play (I am mainly an FPS gamer) is Battlefield 3.

So let me know if you think I should return or keep the card. I suppose I could always sell it on ebay later.

* Oh, and check out my FPS gaming channel on YouTube if you get the chance and remember to subscribe!

Though, I plan on purchasing teh new haswell series from Intel (i5 or i7 4XXX) and a new motherboard so It's going to look ugly with me using a GTX680 smile.gif

It's not at all worth it to go through those hoops to get a 770, but if you want the 780 that's a tougher call.

I would just keep that GTX 680. It's not worth the hassle to get that GTX 770 over your GTX 680. A GTX 770 is only marginally faster. I noticed people are even flashing their GTX 680's with GTX 770 firmwares.

Not worth it for a 770, that makes that 770 cost you almost 500, hang on to the 680.

Return for the 770. GPU Boost 2.0 alone I think is worth it. It is pretty cool, and much improvement for the first version on the first gen of Kepler.

Now for a 780? Maybe worth it (if not losing too much money to do so) thinking.gif

Thanks for the responses guys.

I will keep the GTX680 and just sell later on if I need too, or maybe even just SLI them! North worth it to take a 100$ hit.

Thanks!
