Windows 8 isn't that bad but a lot of people keep finding that the main start-up files in order to fast boot/instant boot aren't installed (longer log-in screen wait-for-it period). However, dman811 will be able to help you in case you don't like it entirely but hear me out. Windows 8 can really help you be up-to-what is happening around you and I really do love Windows eight.
Just do yourself a favor and either find a friend, contact the main brands (your device is relying on) and get your hands on the software in order to fast-boot, instantOn start-up files-> (for Asus), and so forth. They should be able to help you obtain that instantOn/etc software if you tell them that you're a big fan/user of their parts and that you're updating to Windows 8 and that you really would like to not wait five minutes before logging in.
Good luck and I'm out.
