The Best Brown Switch Budget Mechanical Keyboard

Thread Starter
I have set my sights on the Rosewill RK-9000BR

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823201042

and the Cooler Master Storm Quick Fire Pro

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823129003&Tpk=Cooler%20Master%20Storm%20Quick%20Fire%20Pro&IsVirtualParent=1

They both have goods reviews and are from reputable companies, but both seem to have some faults so does anyone else have recommendations for a fullsize, mx brown, less than $120 mechanical that I should take a look at before I pull the trigger? Also has anyone owned either of them and can give me some advice on which to choose if there aren't any better suggestions?

Thanks

The Rosewill is a great choice, but you can get Browns for far less when keyboards pop up with rebates. Just be on the lookout for them in the Online Deals section.

That Rosewill keyboard is waaay overpriced for what it is. It would be worth it if it was around $60.

I was going to suggest getting a Leopold, which is the best quality you can buy at the $90-110 price point. But unfortunately they are all sold out.

I would also not pay $115 for a CoolerMaster keyboard...that's overpriced by $40.

I suggest waiting for a sale on the CM board or waiting for the brown switch Leopolds to come back in stock.

10-keyless is still on stock. But i agree with going with leopold. They rock for the price point.

The quickfire's can go for real cheap on a good sale, buddy of mine got his for $60-something after promo + rebate on newegg.
Leopolds will be better quality as said, but if you ask me it's worth paying the extra $30 or so on going Filco over them.

I've seen the CM Storm Quickfire Rapid on Amazon for $79.99 $89.99 recently, but both the rapid and stealth say "Ships in 1-3 months", so I'm not sure you'd be interested in that.

I've been looking for a good, tenkeyless brown keyboard on amazon, and that's basically all I can find besides ~$180 Filcos.

Buy a Leopold TKL then.

On par with Filco quality, but not stupidly priced.

Ah, as for mine, finding it on Amazon is the most important thing for me, considering the main reason I'm really wanting to get one is that I have a fair amount of Amazon gift card balance and nothing I want to buy at this time other than a keyboard.

I ordered a Quickfire Rapid a few days ago off Amazon for $67.99. It had Cherry Blues, but the Browns were a similar price (a bit more). And this keyboard is great. I actually like it more than the Das I used to have (Model S Ultimate Silent MX Browns). So I would recommend it or the RK9000, though I have heard it has troubles with the plug losing its connection. The QFR has cable routing that really secures the microusb cable in place, so it shouldn't be a problem (I don't move my keyboard anyway, though, so it wouldn't matter for me).

I would say wait for a sale on the QFR. It'll drop again soon: http://camelcamelcamel.com/CM-Storm-QuickFire-Rapid-Mechanical/product/B007VDKLLM?active=price_amazon
