busted bios, can't reflash to fix on a 7970

so I hav a HIS 7970 figured I would try the 7970 Ghz version of the bios and it's a self installer. Didn't go over well and now the computer drivers don't seem to recognize the card. Fine and dandy I'll just reflash the stock bios that I saved right... WRONG!!!

everytime I try to even open atiwinflash be it ina dos window or just straight up open the file by clicking I Get the message "the procedure entry point WinSqmAddToStreamEx could not be located in teh dynamic link library ntdll.dll."

So what do I do now? I can switch to bios 2 and all is fine but I want to flash bios 1 still and get it back to normal. Any ideas what is going on here?

Only ever flash a bios in bios.

Instead of typing atiwinflash -f -p 0 "nameofrom.rom" just type in atiwinflash to run the application. Then click load and browse to the .rom and flash that biatch! smile.gif

I used the rom that was mentioned on this page http://www.overclock.net/t/1281425/amd-release-hd-7970-ghz-bios-upgrade-for-reference-hd-7970 which linked to here http://legitreviews.com/news/13622. it seems a few have had decent luck with the flash as well so I figured it was worth a shot. Looking at it I think they use atiwinflash to apply the flash anyway it just does it in a one click setup for you.

I'm moving right now. No idea where the CD's to make a bootdisk are right now, no floppies anymore, and no thumb drives either.
