Need advice / help / recommendations deciding which phones to get.

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a new set of cans and sound card for my new rig. I have spent the last 3 days reading forum after forum as I am quite new to 'quality' audio and setups. and yes I've read the audio guide and recommended list on here

I 'think' I've narrowed it down to the following:
Sennheiser PC360
AKG's Q 701
Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 250

A recommendation and a reason as to why would be awesome =)

My Details below:

So I just can't decide which heads to grab. From what I've been reading it seems all have pros and some cons but mostly personal preference.
I'm wanting the new set for gaming only.
I'd like to 'try' and experience a much better sound stage and crisper sounds. Bass isn't too important but to feel a bit of the effect of a grenade or splosions would be sweet =)

My budget is $400 - $500max and must include cans and sound card.
My MoBo is the ASUS Rampage IV Extreme and I also have Logitech Z5500-D

Also:
My current set is... Razer Megalodon 7.1 and to be honest, I've started to realise that they suck... vocals (in games) in 5.1 or 7.1 sound horrid and I have to flick it to 2.1 to prevent my ears from bleeding. Firing pistols sounds awful and 'tinny' and pretty much most other weapons and such. the ONLY thing I like is that I can tell if something is behind me... kinda. Basically their only half decent for 2.1 but the positioning isn't great.
I am also not able to go and 'try before I buy' =(

Cheers from AUS guys =)

AKG Annie K702 ($380) + Creative Soundblaster Z ($100) — Amazon prices, pretty much what I think will fit what you want most interms of absolute positional accuracy.
The Annies is a lot like the Q701, but its bass is slightly above neutral so you will get a little bit more punch.

I think one of the most important changes with the Annies is that AKG has changed the headband design. No longer are the stupid studs on the Q701 present which I think is a huge comfort improvement, at least for me the studs on the Q701 was freaking annoying no matter how long I took to try and adjust to them.

The Annies (K702) is one most balanced headphones I've heard under the $400 mark... if not the most balanced one. Right in contention with the HE400, which I think the Annies beat.
