MSI Z87 MPOWER Max or GIGABYTE GA-G1.Sniper M5

As title say need to decide between these 2 for my build.

Sniper M5: Don't like the mATX form factor and the green styling but love the features and quality parts. Can't justify going to the Sniper 5 since I will probably never go Tri or Quad SLI and rather save the money for a GTX 780.

MPower Max: Like the MPower design and styling and it's standard ATX. But ppl seems to prefer Gigabyte mobo's cause the quality of the parts are better?

Wanted to wait to see the ASRock OC/Formula Extreme 9/11 and the Asus RoG boards (Still on a Rampage II that haven't given me any problem with a mild overclock) before deciding but gonna head out to my Microcenter on Tuesday to pickup the 4770k and I will probably cave and buy either one if they have it in stock.

So opinions pls!!

Why are you limiting yourself to these two boards? Especially when they are so different?

I would not trust the durability of MSI or Asrock motherboards over Gigabyte and Asus...Just get whichever Gigabyte or Asus has the specs you want. Honestly think about how valuable your time is and how much of a pain it is when you have to troubleshoot or do an RMA, best to pay a bit extra to minimize the potential of that happening.

Not really limiting myself, just after looking through all the mobo that's out atm that's what I came down to.

Should also check out the OC Force. It seems similar in specs/cost to the Sniper...more overclocking options but not as good of integrated sound. If you don't care about the integrated sound, it's possible that the OC Force might have higher quality/more durable components to stand up to the extreme conditions it's intended for (just my speculation).

If you don't need the PLX chip for 3+ GPUs you might want to look at lower tier boards.

I would look at the UD3H for a more cost effective solution. Or if you wanna step up with more features, UD4H or UD5H. Gigabyte UEFI BIOS is really impressive.

Well the UD4H is definitely the cost effective solution since it's only $145 at Microcenter if I buy it with a Haswell. But doesn't the Sniper M5 uses better quality parts or they all the same?

So the UD4H has better VRMs? I'm guessing that means I should be better off getting a separate sound card?
