Well he is right in a way.

The whole theory is based on assumptions, and not actual proof or observations of gravitational pulls.
They looked at the weather and found an algorithm which works for them for a specific area of the sky on how its behaving, and from that they say "hmm there could be a gravitational pull from some anomaly in space" and from there went on to connect it to "multi-verse" as an option, a theory they want to happen.

It can also be that they made their theory based on what they wanted their conclusion to be. This is not really uncommon in theoretical physics and mathematics to happen.
Its was not developed from "hmm I wonder what this is" and from there ended up with "oh my god there are other universes out there!!!11!!". The gave those anomalies a reason to exist, and not the other way around.

But basically you are also right. They bring out the theory, and someone else will go and try it out and prove them either wrong or right, eventually.

I wonder if its proof that there is another Sheldon Cooper out there, only an evil one.

No.

Looking at patterns and inconsistencies in the CMB, which should, by our current understanding, be virtually featureless, is certainly observational proof. Proof of precisely what we are not certain, but of the hypothesis currently being tossed around, the existence of other universes is one of the more promising ones.

Uhh...unless this is a string of metaphor, I don't think you know what you are talking about.

Remember that 600 years ago, mathematical models of an earth-centered universe could accurately predict the motion of planets. Just because the model works, doesn't mean it actually describes reality.

I agree. The paradox of theories is that in order to refine them, we need to take them as groundwork for other research in some cases, and set aside our belief of them in others.

(This to all who think scientists are closed-minded.)

edit: The key is in remembering that we don't have a completely accurate picture, and probably never will. I think topics like this one bring to mind concepts of overarching, "grand-unified," end-all-be-all notions about our understanding, so naturally people are going to oppose it. In reality this is just a small idea, which happens to be about a very big thing.

Only if you didn't look too close and were willing to accept some convoluted stuff to shoehorn a geocentric model and circular orbits...

Scientist realize their models are not reality. In fact, a model does not have to be even true to be useful: http://arstechnica.com/science/2013/05/earning-a-phd-by-studying-a-theory-that-we-know-is-wrong/

The question is more like what is the best fit model?

I'm a firm believer in a multiverse theory. The coming and departure of a gazillion of universes in this foam of pure energy which I phylosophically call "The Sea of Infinity", or religiously "The Blood of God", a process that will go on for ever, statistically creating an infinite amount of universes like ours.

It also solves another problem easily. Why is there more matter than anti matter? We have an over abundance of matter in this universe. Well, that's because there's also anti-matter universes created when energy is transformed into (anti) matter. When universes of opposite matters collide, they go poof and be converted back to to the ever infinite pool of energy.

Thinking far off? I dunno but it seems plausible.

Well, calling it 'Hard Evidence' to prove a theory of a multiverse is certainly not very scientific. Even when Einstein predicted the offset in the position of stars around the sun due to the suns mass when taking a picture during an eclipse wasn't hard evidence, it was only good evidence to support his theories and show they were able to predict the positions.

If there is hard evidence that would mean it isn't a theory anymore, but actual indisputable fact. The existence of atoms used to be a theory, but today we have hard evidence, e.g. we can actually view them in the highest resolution microscopes.

You see by your definition of hard evidence, this is as well. What we view with the WMAP or Planck Observatory is really not different than what we view with the microscope. Both are just images rendered from the detection of particles...
