I told her honestly that if I hadn't bought for her birthday I'd of probably taken it for myself. The touch screen was questionable to me at first but between it and the full sized keyboard and gestures touch pad it is a sweet little machine. The only disappointment for me is the 3 hour battery life and non-changeable batteries. But hey it is what it is.

That Zenbook is a nice machine.

Have a great day!

huh? Of course it's windows...this isn't a new line or anything. Just an expansion on the Asus Zenbook Prime's which have been around for nearly a year now. The touchpad on these zenbooks is amazing, very seamless interaction with what you see on the screen. Not all ultrabooks have that same feeling with their lackluster touchpads. Also, backlit keyboards, decent sound (mine was by Bang & Olufsen), and at a great screen (mine was a 1080p IPS+ while pretty much every other vendor was only offering 768p. Also, the battery life on the zenbooks is much higher than just 3 hours -____- Hopefully these will come with Haswell CPU's as well.

That new one from Razer actually looks like it might be okay, if overpriced. I've not looked at the specs though.

The Razer blade isn't an ultrabook by definition, but it does look nice

By definition, no. It fulfills all of the dimensional requirements, though.

Because first of all, the desktop is the only decent tool for media production. Laptops, ultrabooks, hybrids, tablets, smartphones all pale in comparison of what you can produce with a desktop. So essentially, if you're going for production everything but a desktop is not the optimal choice.

Secondly, iOS and Android tablets are far cheaper, and have higher power efficiency, and they are just as good for media consumption: browsing websites, watching movies, reading books/emails.

So out of those millions and millions of (inefficient and unoptimized) PC apps, few would be suited for a hybrid. And so while admittedly, the hybrid's production capability is slightly better, the hybrid is twice the price, and with half the battery life (and just the same consumption capabilities, which in the end is what most people do).

On topic: I like the Zenbook design, but I remain unconvinced about laptops/ultrabooks with touchscreens.

same fro on the go? ...ya....

New details have emerged recently alongside this video.

It looks particularly beautiful in white; would also help mask those pesky fingerprints.

13.3-inch IPS 10 point touch display (1920 x 1080 Full HD or 2560 x 1440 WQHD resolution)
28W Core i7-4558U dual-core
Optional 512GB RAID0 SSD
Models feature either Intel Iris™ graphics, or NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 730M graphics with Optimus technology
