also here it's the other way around, Enermax is overpriced
compared to the Enermax ATX Platimax EPM850 EWT
- Corsair AX860 is 100$ cheaper
- Corsair AX860i is 80$ cheaper
- Seasonic Platinium-860 is 50$ cheaper

Enermax ATX Platimax EPM750 AWT also cost more than Corsair AX860 (only 20$) and about the same as AX860i, but offers quite a bit less W

I was so decided on AX860(i) it's hard to let go
I understand that the "i" software is low quality, but what about the hardware? does it really go up in smoke that often ?

No its does not it has some problems with coil whine thats the only major flaw it has

Go down to 80 plus gold and you have so much more you can pick from

And the Antec High Current Pro Platinum 750 is not out yet which is why you cant find it

Is coil whine dangerous or just annoying?
Is it in AX860/AX860i/both ?

As you suggested I did go down to gold (edited one of the previous posts for other users to see)
Could you point at some decent gold cert PSUs then?

I found HCP-850 Gold Cert is available, still costs more than the overpriced Corsair AX860 (+70$), but I'll research it now

List what you can find at what price that would be much easier then me telling you about units you cant find anyway

Make a list and i will take a look at what is best at what price

Forget about the EVGA that one sucks
I would say that the Corsair HX750 and HX850 as well as the OCZ ZX Series are the best options

If you can go up to the Be-Quiet! Dark Power PRO 10 then you got pretty much THE most silent PSU money can buy

If it where myself with those options i would go with the Be-Quiet! Dark Power PRO 10 due to its super low noise level

The 750 watts and below is made by FSP the 850 watts and above is made by Seasonic so they have nothing to do with each other

Just go for the 750 watts

I didn't know because you earlier recommended 750W PSUs but here http://www.overclock.net/t/1392492/be-quiet-power-supplies-information-thread# there are no 750W reviews, but a few for 850W
but checking 750W reviews on my own it's to be just as awesome as 850W

out of curiosity... do you know what are some differences between these two?
apart from the manufacturer (overpriced Seasonic), more cables and power wink.gif
